Nancy G’s Cafe

January 10, 2012

If it’s your birthday, this award winning restaurant is the place to go. Nancy G’s gives you a complimentary serving of their infamous banana pudding on your special day!

Banana Pudding at Nancy G's

Years ago someone commented to Nancy how hard it was to find banana pudding at restaurants. She decided right then that when she opened her restaurant she would feature good old-fashioned banana pudding.

Her pudding has a slight twist. She tops it off with whipped cream sprinkled with cinnamon and fresh mint leaves. I would have never thought to partner cinnamon with banana pudding, but I will be making it that way at home from now on! It was absolutely delicious from start to finish.

The restaurant was dimly lit with a romantic feel.  Each table had candles lit as well as tablecloths and brown paper and crayons for the kids. While dining, children can enjoy drawing on the table or coloring in a coloring book. Nancy did a good job of making sure the restaurant was family friendly.

The restaurant boasts a separate bar, 2 TV’s, music and a private dining room for parties, bridal showers, meetings and other private events.

Nancy G’s has been open for 7 years. The owner, Nancy Goodrich, spent the first four years working 12 hours a day, 7 days a week to make the restaurant a success. Her hard work paid off as can be attested by her loyal customers.

Butternut Squash Ravioli from Nancy G's

I had the pleasure of sampling the Butternut Squash Ravioli and Banana Pudding. The butternut squash stuffed ravioli was covered with asparagus tips, goat cheese, prosciutto and butternut cream sauce. The asparagus was cooked perfectly. The richness of the goat cheese blended nicely with the creamy butternut cream sauce.  As soon as I finished a bite, I couldn’t wait to take another.

At first I questioned whether or not I was eating a delicious, creamy soup until my fork feasted upon the ravioli perfectly stuffed with sweet butternut. This is definitely a “must try” dish. I will be coming back to Nancy G’s just for this dish.
